  • Maximize Radio Range -

  • The NoiseSink is a high-quality electromagnetic filter that plugs in between the motor controller and the receiver. By blocking the electromagnetic noise generated by the motor and controller, the NoiseSink significantly increases the controllable (glitch-free) radio range of electric powered vehicles. In noisy, high-power RC systems, the NoiseSink will increase the radio range by a factor of 10 (see our measured data below).
  • The NoiseSink mates with all standard RC receiver/servo connectors. Placing the NoiseSink in line with the motor controller (ESC) blocks noise coming from the controller and the motor.
  • The NoiseSink is available in two versions; a low-current (LC) and a high-current (HC) version. A good rule-of-thumb for deciding which version of the NoiseSink to use is: if your vehicle uses micro-size servos (Hitec-56 or below), then you can use the NoiseSink-LC, which will provide you with the minimum-weight solution. For larger vehicles, the NoiseSink-HC is recommended.
  • The NoiseSink was designed for maximum noise-blocking effectiveness while ensuring that it does not block the desired control signals from the receiver. Our field tests, along with third-party tests, show a 10-fold improvement in glitch-free radio range for noisy, high power RC systems. The following measured data provides a better understanding of how the NoiseSink works. The measured common mode rejection curve plotted below shows that the NoiseSink blocks noise by about 20 dB (or a factor of 100) in the frequency range of most RC systems (35HMz and 72MHz). Transmitted radio power decreases as 1/r2, so the square root of 100 (which is 10) is the radio range improvement factor (this holds true as long as motor-generated electromagnetic noise limits radio range). The low differential mode attenuation indicates that signals sent from the receiver to the servos and other devices will not be blocked.
